
A new Radisson Blu Hotel & Residence is going to open this November. The building is located in the port area and will offer 105 guest rooms and apartments. From July a new 3star hotel Lenios (108 beds) is commissioning in Oroklini as well. A number of foreign investors are involved in the future grand projects in Larnaca.
Another Radisson Blu hotel project near Larnaca’s airport has been announced. The first hotel in the airport is scheduled to open in 2019. It will host a conference centre, 180 guestrooms, a spa, indoor\ outdoor swimming pools, a gym, a tennis court and some other event and meetings facilities.
The ‘Castle project’ in front of Mackenzie beach is sponsored by a millionaire from Lebanon, Antoine Saniour. It is planned to build an island in the shape of Cyprus and connect it to the beach by a long path. It will include a 13-floor hotel for 500 beds, a huge jacuzzi capacity for 100 people, a beach bar, restaurant, and around 800 sunbeds with umbrellas on the beach site. In May a huge seafood restaurant as the first stage of this project is completed.
The same process has started with a luxurious Phinikoudes 25-floor hotel from a Russian investor.
One of the Cypriot developers, Cyfield, has begun another building of the Atlantic complex near the beach, in Piale Pasia street. It has 11 floors and will host luxury 2-bedroom apartments.
Apart of the new hotels two malls and 20-floor apartment block are on the construction plans in Larnaca and Aradippou. There are other propositions from Lebanese and Ukrainian investors for construction of apartment buildings in the same Mackenzie area. If all the plans are approved and licences are submitted by the municipality to all the project developers, Larnaca is expected to have a real construction boom the nearest years.
